Peanut Butter & Co launches new line of cookies on National Peanut Butter Cookie Day
This marks a new chapter for Peanut Butter & Co, as the company, hitherto known for its spreads, expands into snacking. Zalben adds, “We’re really excited for all the new ways peanut butter lovers can experience our brand now.”

Peanut butter lovers, rejoice! It’s National Peanut Butter Cookie Day and Peanut Butter & Co, the family-owned brand of peanut butter available in more than 15,000 stores nationwide, announces a new line of cookies made with ingredients simple and honest.
The two new cookies are Peanut Butter Chip and Maple Almond Butter:
- Peanut Butter Chip is a delicious cookie with a rich peanut butter taste and extra bursts of peanut butter flavor from peanut butter chips.
- Maple Almond Butter has the rich taste of almond butter with crunchy chunks of toasted almonds and a touch of real maple syrup for even more flavor.
Both cookies are 100% plant-based and made without any animal ingredients, yet still have the rich flavor and taste experience of a traditional homemade cookie.
The new line of cookies is the result of Peanut Butter & Co founder and CEO Lee Zalben isolating himself during the Covid-19 pandemic. “Like so many others, I went from working in an office with amazing and inspiring people, to working alone from home and seeing my colleagues only through a screen for months. With the boundaries between work and personal time so blurry i was working every week until i was about to unravel then i was watching way too much netflix trying to relax finally i found stress relief and a new purpose creative through baking and developing these cookies,” he says.
“I baked so many batches of cookies, week after week, each time making small adjustments to improve flavor and texture. Our team was distant, so it wasn’t easy to share and get I felt like I was starting over, back to the beginning when I started Peanut Butter & Co in 1998. It was both scary and exhilarating.
Zalben took the recipes to a small commercial bakery, which prepared several test batches. “It happened very quickly,” he shares. “All the time I spent testing paid off and we had recipes that needed very little tweaking to work on a larger scale.”
The entrepreneur is excited to finally share his cookies with peanut butter and almond butter lovers everywhere. Peanut Butter & Co’s Peanut Butter Chip and Almond Maple Butter Cookie items are launching on the company’s website ilovepeanutbutter.com as well as the Amazon and Walmart Marketplace. The company intends to roll out the products to other channels in the coming months.
