But according to Mashed, there is another way to cook the snack using different kitchen equipment.
If you have a panini press hiding in the back of your kitchen cupboards, there’s never been a better reason to dust it off.
The pros at mashed explained, “Panini presses are a quick and easy way to whip up your favorite desserts like brownies, cakes, or a batch of warm chocolate chip cookies.”
The panini press will take half the time to heat up compared to the average oven, so you can get your hands on fresh cookies even faster.
Simply drop the cookie mixture directly onto the grill plates for about eight minutes, flipping for more even cooking.
If you like your cookies more gooey, you can leave them for less time, or a bit longer if you prefer a golden crunch.
Although the treats may not look as Instagrammable when baked this way, they are much faster and more economical.
You can even put premade cookies in the panini press for less time to add a little extra crunch or just help melt the chocolate chips for that delicious gooey.
