Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream opens in Newport on Thursday, May 6 – Orange County Register
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt is opening a new ball store on Thursday, May 6 in Newport Beach. That’s the national chain’s four Orange County locations with stores in 10 states, which offer 48 flavors a day, chosen from a list of more than 170 that rotate seasonally.
âThe Newport Beach owner group has exceeded our expectations every day,â said James Brown, CEO of Handel. âThey represent the best of people and we have no doubt they will do the same with our brand. Orange County will be delighted with our decision to open in Newport.
The new store will be on Oceanfront across from the beach and the pier. There are also sites in Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, and Rancho Santa Margarita, with two more coming soon in Huntington Beach and San Clemente. The brand, founded in 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio by Alice Handel, was ranked # 1 of 2015 by National Geographic “The 10 Best of Everything,” an international list.
Handel’s offers yogurts, sorbets, ice cream and fat-free options as well as banana splits, sundaes, smoothies and other treats.
